1970s model.  Old Town used royalex in these models for increased durability. The Royalex Tripper 17 (formally the Old Town Tripper 172) is a legendary 17-foot wilderness tripping canoe built for heavy loads, whitewater, and expeditions. Though discontinued due to the end of Royalex production, it remains highly sought after on the used market for its near-indestructible durability and immense carrying capacity.
